Backgammon basic rules
Backgammon board contains checkers, dice and cups. The board has twenty-four triangles in opposite colors. These triangles are also known as points. The board is divided into four areas. Six points in each area. Moreover, The board is divided into two halves by a bar which is where checkers are sent to once they have been hit. Checkers There are 30 checkers in two different colors on the board, 15 checkers for each player. Note: Checkers are also referred to as stones, men, counters or pieces. Doubling cube A special six sided die with the numbers : 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 & 64. The doubling cube makes an exciting contribution to your game. It also allows to: 1. Mark the player that last doubled. 2. When playing for real money Backgammon or practicing, it is used to keep track of the units at stake.
What are the starting positions at Backgammon? The way all 30 checkers are placed on the Backgammon is called "The starting position.
The permanent order of the starting position is:
2 checkers are on the 24th point of each player. 5 checkers are on each player's 13th point. 3 checkers are on the 8th point. 5 checkers are on each player 6th points.
